Newport students talk about games design on C4’s Crunchtime

Our students Kate Killick & Henry Hoffman  have been busy discussing their experience at Dare To Be Digital 2010, on Channel 4’s Crunchtime. Kate & Henry a part of Team Angry Mango, went on to win Dare to be Digital and were nominated for a Games BAFTA ‘One’s to Watch’ Award.

Guest Lecture: Kevin Moss

On the 20th May Kevin Moss Founder and Creative Director of PlayThisNext gave a lecturer for Computers Games Design students. The lecture was about Kevin’s current & past projects, talking in depth about how he got these ventures off the ground.

PlayThisNext, an award winning production company who is shaping a new future for digital entertainment ranging from mobile apps, location based games and big budget TV shows and story worlds. Their first major project has just been optioned by Pure Grass Films.

Before this he was Creative Director at Good Technology, one of London’s most critically acclaimed digital agencies where he directed projects for a range of clients including Playstation, FT.com and Audi. Prior to that, he founded Incline Media, an innovative and award winning online agency which he sold to WPP plc in 2005. There he headed teams working for PlayStation, Ladbrokes and Nationwide on their online digital strategy, advertising and site development.

Kevin was lead designer at both Syzygy, working with Pepsi and Cartoon Network and SMS with Capital Radio. He built his first website in 2004. He was also Creator, Producer and Writer of the satirical animation ‘Wembley Park’ commissioned by E4/C4 and has seen a recent animated short gain an amazing 20 million online views.
